It really was fate when Emma & Kirsty from @eggplantandpoppy slid into my inbox a few years back and asked if I'd be down to make some cheeky custom candles for their online and bricks and mortar store in Cairns. I think we all know they had me at "fuck".

These 2 besties are my heroes - fearless, authentically themselves and so incredibly hilarious. They are living, breathing proof that you can be a badass biz owner AND nice guys #goals

Even though the Russian bots try and intercept all forms of email correspondence between us, @eggplantandpoppy there is no limit to the level of filth that I am willing to have to walk into the printing office to pick up the labels for.

✖️ Meet Hayley, aka Basic Bitch Candle Muse. ✖️

Jumping onboard with TPP officially in 2016 at our very first Perth Upmarket, she brings with her not only a lifetime of working in sales under her belt, but what we like to call, Hayley’s secret sauce: Big Dick Energy, an unrivalled knowledge of reality tv and pop culture, a huge emotional investment in TPP as well as being the FUNNIEST person in the world. People think I’m funny, well Hayley makes me look about as funny as catching an STD.

We actually met all the way back in 2004 working in the cosmetics department of a large national retailer. We spent most of our shifts together being little shits and being told to “disperse” by middle management. We were a manager's worst nightmare and pretty much just obnoxious gals that thought we knew it all in our early twenties. Nothing much has changed really.

Hayley is my biggest cheerleader and go-to for brutally honest feedback, taker of credit for the Myer order and really shit at labelling, so she's not allowed to do that any more.

I present to you all, this absolute shitshow known

I present to you all, this absolute shitshow known as Thirsty Thursdays (formerly Wino Wednesdays) where 2 of my bestest friends in the whole world and I take turns hosting at our houses on Thursdays with wine and cheese. It's a safe space for our kids to run around feral, bras and shoes are optional (and not recommended) and we get to discuss important topics such as how horrible our children are, what our husbands have done to annoy us lately, and ranking The Wiggles in which order you'd want to have sex with.

As you can see from the carnage, when it comes to the cheese platter it's every man for themselves before we're all "Ella! stop licking the cheese" "Billy! Get your finger out of the wheel of camembert" or "Cove! did you just eat a whole tub of pesto dip!?".

My point is, in this crazy world we live in, it's more important than ever to lean on each other for support in times of need, and that I don't think I would have made it this far with my sanity intact (*twitch**twitch*) without the love and support of my girlfriends.

They say it takes a village to raise a child, but it also takes wine and camembert with a finger hole in it.
