Let's talk shipping. A while back I put the question to you if you’d prefer to pay more for a product if it included free shipping, vs the way it is (product costs less, plus flat rate $8 shipping or free if you spend over $45) + a whopping 76% of you preferred a higher priced product with free shipping.

First, lemme give you a bit of background: shipping is expensive, period. We researched long + hard to find the best rates + have no issues being completely transparent in letting you know that even just to send one candle it costs us anywhere between $7.50-$20.50 depending on location. Then you’ve got to factor in the cost of shipping materials (boxes, packing tape, geami greenwrap which keeps your products safe, filling, labels for the courier) + the time it takes to produce + pack every single order. The $8 flat rate charge barely covers the cost, + to be honest most people are buying more than one candle + are qualifying for free shipping anyway. I’ve seen heeeeeeaps of online stores offering free shipping on orders over $100 to even $200, so think that a $45 spend to qualify is pretty damn reasonable.

I’ve pondered for many months now + at the end of the day my priority will always be what’s best for YOU, the customer + how I can give you MORE, rather than how can I cut corners. I don’t want to punish my regular supporters + those who buy multiple candles for the sake of trying to capture once off customers looking for free postage #qualityoverquantity.

So. as my relationship with you is important, + in all good relationships there’s compromise, here’s what I’m doing:
📦 With 70% of our customers in Perth I’ve made the majority of Perth metro suburbs free shipping
📦 There’s now an option to ship to PO Boxes for a small charge to contribute towards the cost for us to use Aus Post shipping
📦 We are keeping the minimum spend at $45 to qualify for free shipping
📦 We have invested in more eco friendly shipping materials, which you'll see more of over the coming months
